    Vitamin Deficiency Anemia- causes and prevention

    Anemia is a hazardous health issue that occurs for blood cell scarcity. A low diet plan is one of the main reasons for anemia. Moreover, there have several problems that your body can’t appropriately absorb significant vitamins. And if anemia occurs for lacking vitamin, then it’s called vitamin deficiency anemia.

    Your risk of developing vitamin deficiency anemia increases as you grow old. During pregnancy, pregnant women need more vitamins. That’s why they are at high risk.

    However, it is best if you respond quickly at first sight to prevent this type of anemia. And then see a doctor for testing.

    Causes of vitamin deficiency anemia

    It occurs for minerals deficiency like vitamin B-12, vitamin C, and folate.

    Vitamin B-12 deficiency

    You can find this vitamin in meat, milk, and eggs. If you avoid eating these foods, you will surely suffer from vitamin deficiency anemia. There is a factor that controls vitamin B-12 absorption in the blood cells. Sometimes, your immune system obstructs your stomach from producing this intrinsic factor, which can cause anemia.

    Vitamin C deficiency

    Vitamin C maintains your immunity and also absorb iron. So, a lack of vitamin C can cause low iron absorption. So, vitamin C deficiency leads to anemia.

    Folate deficiency

    Folate’s other name is vitamin B-9. You can find it in fruits and green vegetables. Besides, for celiac disease, drinking too much alcohol, taking some medication, and small intestine surgery can cause folate deficiency. So, avoiding these foods and having these problems can lead to anemia.

    Prevention

    To prevent vitamin deficiency anemia, you have to stop heavy alcohol use, smoking, and unhealthy eating. Besides, to reduce the risk of developing this condition, you should eat healthy foods. There have some healthy red blood cells making foods including-

    • Egg
    • Nuts
    • Milk
    • Citrus juices
    • Dried fruits
    • Red meat
    • Green leafy vegetables like broccoli and spinach
