Syllabus of SBI PO: Tips and Guidelines to Prepare

    JamesBy JamesJanuary 2, 2023No Comments3 Mins Read

The State Bank of India holds Probationary Officer (PO) recruiting exams every year. Every year, usually in August or September, the formal announcement for the event is published. Once the notification is issued, eligible applicants can register for the recruitment exam. The information will be accessible on the bank’s official website. Three steps make up the sbi po syllabus and selection process: the preliminary exam, the main exam, and the interview. Before applying for the test, candidates must carefully read the announcement.

The SBI PO syllabus is divided into three sections:

    • Prelims (online written test) (online written test)
    • Mains (online written exam) (online written test)
    • Discussion in Groups and Interview

Candidates who pass the SBI PO Prelims test are qualified to take the Mains exam in the following stage.

Exam structure and syllabus for SBI PO

Candidates should understand the 3-tier SBI PO exam pattern before they read the SBI PO curriculum. Preliminary and main exam SBI PO syllabuses are identical. The SBI PO mains syllabus only includes an additional general and financial knowledge component.

    SBI PO Prelims Syllabus

You said before that the SBI PO test curriculum is comparable to any other PSU bank. Before proceeding to the Mains, the SBI PO Prelims curriculum comprises three critical areas that candidates must ace.

The SBI PO Preliminary Exam curriculum is divided into three sections:

    • Quantitative Aptitude
    • Reasoning Capacity
    • English Language

The questions in each of these sections cover a vast diversity of subjects.

    SBI PO Mains Syllabus

The SBI PO mains exam syllabus consists of four central portions (questions of the objective type):

    • Interpretation and Analysis of Data
    • Deductive Reasoning
    • Awareness of the General Economy and Banking
    • American English

The General English for Competitive Exams website is another resource aspirants may use to look up the English language section’s curriculum.

A descriptive test is included in the SBI PO Mains curriculum. Two questions—one in the form of a letter and one in the form of an essay—make up the descriptive test. For the descriptive examination to count for qualifying for the SBI PO main exam, candidates must receive passing marks.

SBI PO Syllabus: Interview & Group Discussion

In addition to the SBI PO Prelims and Mains exams, there is another step of the PO test called the Group Exercise and Interview process. This phase serves as the final level of selection for successful applicants who pass the first two phases of the SBI PO exam.

The material in the link provides preparation advice for the SBI PO Descriptive paper.

Candidates who pass all test phases are given a Letter of Appointment from SBI outlining the joining procedures, date, and location, among other details.

Preparing for the SBI PO exam

The preparatory advice provided below must be followed by applicants taking the SBI PO Exam:

    • Practice as many mock exam papers as possible to pass the SBI PO Exam. Regular practice aids in helping you see your errors and grasp their effects.
    • Visit the top websites for SBI PO online training courses, books, videos, and practice exams.
    • Candidates may also get a lot of assistance from solving SBI PO’s previous year’s problems. Exam pattern details based on the SBI PO syllabus for prelim and main exams may be understood by students using last year’s papers.
    • Even in Hindi, you may do SBI PO Papers.
    • Additionally, candidates should read newspapers, periodicals, and journals to improve their grammar and communication abilities. The general knowledge, descriptive paper, and interview portions of the SBI PO Exam will benefit from this.
